Community Involvement

Giving Back to the community is in our DNA at Atlantic Builders. We support a variety of causes each year whose names you’ll recognize like the YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, United Way and Germanna Community College. But just as important to us is supporting truly local organizations such as Loisann’s Hope House, Fredericksburg’s largest homeless shelter, SAWs, a provider of ADA-compliant ramps for disabled persons homes and many other worthy causes.

And while we give back as a company, Atlantic Builders also encourages all of our team members to contribute personally to their favorite causes.  In fact, Atlantic Builders matches any donation by a team member up to $250 per year AND we give each employee a total of 40 hours per year to volunteer at the charitable organization of his or her choice.  Some of our team members have used this time to go on annual mission trips to Uganda and Haiti while others work with local organizations like Goodwill Industries, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Women Giving Back and many more on a weekly and monthly basis.

In 2024, Atlantic Builders' GiveBack Crews are volunteering their time to several local organizations whether it be serving food at a local soup kitchen, building a greenhouse for a school that provides specialized educational and employment services to disadvantaged and disabled youth or helping Make a Wish Foundation construct a ninja playground for a child. Our team is committed to not only providing financial support to the community but also hands on personal volunteering support.

Atlantic Builders Give Back Home

Each year, Atlantic Builders donates the profit from one of our homes to different local/national organizations. For the 8th year in a row, Atlantic Builders has completed a home whose proceeds have been donated to charitable organizations throughout the Fredericksburg region. These “Give Back Homes” are possible with the cooperation of Atlantic’s trade partners and suppliers who contribute materials and labor at a reduction in cost or in many instances for free.  In 2023, Atlantic Builders and its partners were able to donate $550,000 to organizations in Fredericksburg and Charlottesville, VA.

Our 2024 Give Back Home is progressing smoothly, and we're on track to nearly double last year’s donations—making a seven-figure contribution within reach! While the exact amount will be announced later this year, we want to recognize the incredible organizations that will benefit from this significant donation. We also encourage you to explore the missions of these groups and discover why Atlantic Builders and our trade partners are proud to support their work.
